  • 21 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security:- (a) whether he is aware that Muruka Location has over 35,000 people and they are all under one chief; and, (b) what steps the Government will take to split the location into Muruka and Kiranga locations in the spirit of bringing Government services closer to the people. view
  • 21 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to differ with the Assistant Minister, because what he has told the House is wrong. The population projected for that area is not 24,000. We are talking about 50,000 people. At the same time, I fail to understand which people he is talking about. The same people I represent want another location, and not a sublocation. Could he tell us exactly where he got these figures from? view
  • 21 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think the Assistant Minister is making a mistake, because he is referring to Muruka as a sublocation. Muruka is not a sublocation. It is a location on its own. That is why we are requesting to have another location split from Muruka, so that we have Kiranga Location. view

  • 21 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have just come from that place and I know this area inside out. Kiranga is actually a sublocation on its own and Muruka is a location. So, because Muruka is so vast, it should be split into two locations. view
  • 16 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Defence:- (a) whether he can confirm that there are bombs in Gitura Division, Kandara Constituency since colonial times and that there are army officers guarding them on a daily basis; and, (b) whether he could table the assessment report on the bombs and give an assurance that they pose no threat to the public, now or in future. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this Question was asked last time. I thank you for giving an order October 16, 2008 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 2815 that the Assistant Minister takes it seriously. Indeed, I would also like to ... view
  • 16 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: No! No! I wish to ask Question No.291. view
  • 16 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, what the Assistant Minister has said is, indeed, true. I was able to walk into the defence headquarters without any problem. But that was just because I was in his car. view
  • 16 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: What he has said is true. I also thank the Assistant Minister because he gave orders and we travelled to Kandara Constituency. We were able to go and see the site with a military officer who was a bomb expert. We saw only what was on the ground. Otherwise, there was something underground which they called a cell. I was made to understand that it was a military communication gadget which could not be opened. However, I have no point of doubting him because they are Kenyans and I am sure they have the Kenyans' interest at heart. For that, ... view
  • 15 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, is the Minister aware that we are getting drugs from companies that are not registered worldwide? We will end up having drugs that are not helping anybody and Kenyans will continue to die everyday! What is the Minister doing about that? view
