  • 22 Nov 2023 in Senate: Programme, gazetted 13th November, 2023 as a Public Holiday to allow Kenyans to plant trees; CONCERNED that the Government is yet to establish elaborate measures for the growing and protecting of indigenous trees and to involve such crucial players as the county governments, hence impeding the sustainability of the programme; NOW, THEREFORE, the Senate urges the 47 county governments to set aside land and resources to be used in the planting and protection of indigenous trees, in support of the initiatives by the national Government. Thank you. view

  • 22 Nov 2023 in Senate: (a) Could the Cabinet Secretary disclose the total funds received by the Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund (SASDEF) since July, 2022, and indicate how the funds have been expended during the same period? (b) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide a list of all the stakeholders, organisations and individuals that have benefited from the grants from the Fund stating the specific purposes for which these funds were allocated to each recipient? view
