Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I thank Sen. Farhiya for bringing the Statement. It is quite unfortunate that we have the University Council being independent from the Ministry of Education. In this case, they will be able to do all shades of irregularities. Maasai Mara is my former university where I taught. To date, I have not been paid. Many of the staff that have been complaining about pay have been sacked. The Chief Accountant is adding to the statistics. It is unfortunate that what is levelled against that accountant is simply cybercrime and libel issues that in this case ...

I beg to move that Investment Promotion (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bills No.2 of 2021) be read a Second Time. As I was saying, I was inspired to amend this Bill having looked at the marketing and investment environment right now. It is changing more than ever before. In fact, to remain on the competitive table, there must be very strong strategies at both the county and national Government levels. More specifically at the county level is the new investment front. Unless there are proper strategies to attract, retrain and benefit investors, it will become a challenge to remain on the ...

Madam Deputy Speaker, in fact, Sen. Cherargei is talking about a raft of issues that our Committee has already answered. We spoke to issues to do with the Board of Management (BoM) and teachers very well. We invited Sen. Cherargei but he did not turn up in our Committee. Secondly, we have already provided a raft of measures as a Committee to the Ministry of Education to be taken in the various schools. That is why it was smooth during the term that ended. Even right now, our kids are studying. We are into almost one month since schools opened ...

Madam Deputy Speaker, thank you for this chance to congratulate President Samia Suluhu for a meticulous Speech. President Suluhu stamped her authority to signify that there is a new President in town. In her Speech, she pointed out where these two countries have come from. She came here to establish a new relationship between the two countries. She identified where the two countries came from, starting from 1967 during the Colonial era, where people from similar communities, cultures and same names were separated by imaginary boundaries in the interest of colonial masters. Madam Deputy Speaker, the President is serious to ...

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity to also weigh in on this matter. Article 65 of the Constitution says that every person has the right, either individually or an association to own property in any part of this country. More specifically, to get a place or land to live on. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, it is a challenge that the Dorobo people have been facing. Many of them have been coming to my office believing that I will be settle them. I have been dodging around this, thinking that they will be settled. It is unfortunate that ...
