  • 6 Jun 2019 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, regarding the Petition about Kajiado County, we have summoned the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Water and Sanitation and invited Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr., as a friend of the Committee. We asked the CS to bring a report which we are still waiting for. Upon receiving it, we will go to the ground to ascertain the matter. view

  • 4 Jun 2019 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker Sir. I rise to support the Statement by Sen. (Dr.) Musuruve on inclusion of PWDs in employment. I think PWDs are abled differently and in any case, they have the power to perform like any other person if they are given the opportunity. I think PWDs are still suffering the same fate as women because as you are aware, the two-thirds gender principle is yet to be passed.   • 4 Jun 2019 in Senate: There are many PwDs languishing at home. Some of them have gone to school but they do not have any gainful employment. Although it is provided in law that the women, the youth and PwDs are supposed to be considered in terms of procurement by the Government, in most cases, they are not. They continue to languish in poverty. It is also still a challenge to bring on board PwDs in the counties. We need serious consideration of that, so that in future, such people are also given some gainful employment. view

Kajwang has just said, sometimes when you undergo so much stress, somebody can easily be considered as having some mental illness. I was just reading a few minutes ago that there are very many “hustlers” in this country. Somebody decided to abuse the “hustlers”, and I am sure that can easily cause some kind of mental stress.
