Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I thank you for allowing the Member of Parliament for Rarieda to donate two minutes of his time to me. I want to support the Motion. However, I want to say that this should be much more comprehensive. We should not just dwell on their retirement. We should have a package which will facilitate entry of our youths into sports and take care of their training, reduce their suffering from injuries and other problems they encounter later in life. I fully agree that in order to encourage them in their career, they should have a retirement ...

23 Nov 2010 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) The Ministry of State for Development of Northern Kenya and Other Arid Lands was created in April, 2008, to address the unique challenges facing the region, which are multiple, inter-related and entrenched. The projects undertaken by the Ministry are, therefore, identified as follows:- (i) The Ministry’s interim Strategic Plan is one of the methods that we use. (ii) Every project proposal is screened by the District Development Committees (DDC) such as the District Steering Committees (DSCs) and the District Education Boards (DEBs), among others, as may be ...
