I need not hold this House further because I cannot support less this important Bill. I see that it will be a contributor to a better society in terms of management of our funds and monies. May I say that any other individual who does not understand the actual meaning and importance of this needs to open up the books, the laws that established Waqf in 670 AD and carry on from there.

Therefore, we do not need ignorant people to come and tell us how this can be done. I thank you very much Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, that should suffice for me to support this Bill.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support this Report. I promise that I will be swift enough because many of my colleagues want to speak, and we have only a few minutes. The Equalisation Fund is a Fund that we have been waiting for quite a lengthy time. It is very unfortunate that this has taken this considerable amount of time during our tenure of the 12th Parliament. It has taken too long unnecessarily. Let me say that. It is because the resources that were kept away for over three to four years would have been used ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. The principle of giving certificates is very important in the sense that we reward those who work hard to come and give support. Blood is life. What Hon. Ndindi Nyoro said surely negates the principles. It negates the point that you will be rewarded for any hard work you do as simple as education where you get a certificate and those who did not study are not discriminated against. So it is the same thing. It negates the principles of reward.

Thank you, very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chair. I only add my voice to what my colleagues have said. This is one of the best amendments that has occurred, particularly for our aged population. Our population is not yet aging because 70 per cent are youth. I looked at what Japan does. In reality, our aged population is not looked at the way other nations care for theirs. Therefore, it is a very important amendment that we all need to support.

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. My name is Professor Mohamud Sheikh, MP for Wajir South Constituency that comprises a population of 300,000 with a landmass of nearly 23,000 square kilometres. I could not get a constituency on this. However, for the love of my country and the President, I vote yes.

Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. I stand to condole the departed soul of our senior citizen, a man we always revere, Senator Haji. He was an icon that we always looked up to. He was my first cousin. Unfortunately, it was the saddest moment for me and my family. He touched the hearts of many of our people because of the good The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. he did for himself, the community and the country. He was a man who put the country first and stood by what the country needed. He was one of the icons that all the presidents of this country have related to in terms of his work ethic. Senator Haji was above board in terms of ethics. He stood by his words and stood his ground. He took leadership to the highest level and was admired for it. Truly speaking, we are sure that if every one of us felt that way, then it means that the calling of Allah to ...

Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support this Report by the Departmental Committee on Sports, Culture and Tourism. This Report has really outlined the challenges and the issues that are faced by Kenyan contractors as well as the Kenyan public. Kenyans expect that the taxpayers’ money is expended and utilised accordingly. The Kenyan taxpayers require that all monies assigned for particular projects should be utilised and projects completed accordingly and within the required timelines. Kenya has nearly 71 per cent of youth - people under the age of 35 years - which is a huge ...

people has really been affected. However, while this Report has discussed the intrinsic challenges, it is also important to look at the extrinsic factors. The extrinsic factors are the Government not paying the contractors on time and within the period of time that they complete a particular job. The intrinsic factor definitely stands within the system that requires overseeing those important projects. Wajir South has about 61 per cent of its population being the youth. Unfortunately, there is no single stadium whereas it is the second largest constituency in the country. It is equivalent to Central Province, Nairobi Province and ...
