It is quite clear that, as a country, if we do not pull together now, the aspects and management of the economy for whoever will be in the Government will be extremely difficult for that Government and, indeed, the Kenyan people. We, indeed, truly appreciate and support the sentiments contained in the Presidential Speech. I would like to request hon. Members of this House that as they discuss this particular Motion, they also take into account the remarks that were made by the President when he addressed the joint parliamentary group meeting of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the Party of National Unity (PNU) on the same day of 6th August, 2008, in the morning. We should not try to purport that we are pushing an agenda on a particular issue when we are not yet ready. This House is going to be called upon to make some extremely serious legislative decisions.
