  • 25 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Transport:- (a) whether he is aware that passengers on transit through the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have no waiting lounge; (b) whether he is also aware that the working station for Immigration Officers at JKIA is too small hence hampering effective clearance of passengers; and, (c) what the Government is doing to rectify the above to ensure services at JKIA meet international standards. This is the second time I am asking this Question! view
  • 30 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg your indulgence that Mover of this Motion, Prof. Kamar, had an appointment with her doctor. So, she is not available. view
  • 30 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I suppose that, because of preparedness, she should be moving rather have somebody who is not prepared to move it. view
  • 24 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to support the appointment of P.L.O. Lumumba. My history in the fight against corruption is well known; I did produce the list of shame in this country. The history of P.L.O. Lumumba in those days is very well known to me. P.L.O. Lumumba is a man who has a very independent mind; he is a man of courage; he is extremely courageous and he will not be manipulated by the Executive at any one moment to say yes to things that he wants to move forward with. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, P.L.O. ... view
  • 24 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, my understanding of “economic stimulus” is immediate injection of funds into the economy for immediate effect. A sum of Kshs30 billion was set aside for the ESP. The year is ending, and the Kshs4 billion that had been set aside has not even gone into the economy. Is the Prime Minister not satisfied that Kenyans were being hoodwinked, and that we were talking about development programmes and not an economic stimulus programme? If we still want to have an economic stimulus, could the Government have a programme of immediately injecting the funds set aside for the ESP? view
  • 2 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, obviously, the Minister is admitting that the systems at KCC have failed and that is why we have all these problems. Could the view
  • 2 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Minister consider exploring our neighbouring countries and find out whether they have capacity that could process our milk? That way, we could take our milk in raw form to those countries so that it can be processed. That way, we will sort out some of the problems that are affecting our farmers. view
  • 19 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Indeed, the Minister’s Statement is laughable. He actually stood up and said; “We are worried what Orient Paper Mill would do if we revived the factory”. Orient Paper Mills has run away and yet view
  • 13 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am responding on behalf of the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade. At the outset, I would like to say that as a Committee, we had fruitful discussions with the Minister and his team. We were satisfied that Parliament should grant them their request. view
  • 13 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: In fact, at one stage, we were worried for the Minister that he was not being given enough because trade, as the Minister has said, is the key thing for us as a country if we are going to achieve Vision 2030 or even if we are going to do something about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). I think, for us, it must be trade, trade and trade. As we move on, we should urge the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance to spend more money in Ministries like this one. Sometimes we put a lot ... view
