Thank you very much, Sen. Ongoro, for donating the two minutes. Due to the limited time, I will go straight to some of the points that I have. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, one of them is just to agree with Sen. Musila who said that as a society and a people, we need to ask ourselves where the rain started beating us. How then do we correct the issues that affect us? We also have to target the boys, so that as we talk to the girls, we also talk to our boys. How do we bring up our boys ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Senator for sharing the statement. I agree that we deliberated on the statement in the Committee. As he has put it, although the statement is detailed, the reality on the ground does not really reflect what is in the statement. Knowing that it has been a consultative decision as the Senator has said, I think it is only wise for us to support this amendment. Samburu being a neighbour to Laikipia County, I am aware that these discussions even took place before we went into the general elections and there was that pull and push about Rumuruti and Nanyuki. I know that the people of Laikipia would really feel safer in Rumuruti in terms of accessing services since that is more central to ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Sessional Committee on Devolved Government. The statement relates to the Drought that has caused Starvation that may lead to a humanitarian crisis across counties in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALS) parts of Kenya. In the Statement, the Chairperson should:- (1) State whether the Government is aware that due to the drought that has caused food and water shortage, people are facing starvation in the ASAL counties of Samburu, Turkana, Pokot, Baringo, Isiolo, Garissa, Wajir, Tana River and Laikipia, among others. (2) State how many ...
