  • 4 Nov 2020 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the statement by Sen. Malala. Much has been said by my colleagues. The status of COVID-19 in our country is serious. The COVID-19 is real and we have lost many people in all the counties. Health facilities in my county and many other counties do not have ICU beds or ventilators. Many people have succumbed on the way to Nairobi when coming to seek advanced health care. There is need for us to urge the county governments to take COVID-19 seriously. • 4 Nov 2020 in Senate: I am glad to be seated next to the Chairperson of the Committee on Education. I would like to inform her that parents can no longer trust the Ministry of Education because the CS keeps on changing his statements. Our President has declared this afternoon that schools should remain open. However, how sure are we that the schools will observe all the laid down protocols against COVID-19 to ensure the safety of our children? Is it possible for the Ministries of Education and Health to work together and ensure that children who are back in school are safe and well ... view
  • 4 Nov 2020 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, Parliament has lost a few members of staff. Are we safe enough to continue having sitting normally? It is four right to give service to the nation but if many of our staff are in hospital while some have died, there is need for us to stress on the protection of staff members of Parliament. Our President has given measures that have to be observed starting today. The 9.00 p.m. to 4.00 a.m. curfew is good but Kenyans have proved to be very irresponsible. Many Kenyans are blaming politicians and other leaders but I would like ... view

This is a historic moment in our lives and in the history of our nation because no one expected such an outcome. When the Senate walked to Milimani Court to file the petition, it was a new experience for some ... view
  • 3 Nov 2020 in Senate: The court nullified the 23 Bills that were passed by the National Assembly without the input of the Senate. There is a kind of competition between the National Assembly and the Senate. Many of the Bills from the Senate have died in the National Assembly. There is need for the leadership to sit and reason together, so that we can work together to grow our nation and not to finish each other. We should not do anything that will harm or reduce our responsibilities. By doing what we did, we have supported our Constitution which is under threat. The Constitution ... view
