  • 9 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like the Assistant Minister to clarify when he is going to finish the section between Lanet and Ndundori. That is because the road was supposed to start from Lanet, to Ndundori and then to Njabini. view
  • 9 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The section he is talking about is different from the section I have asked about. I am asking about the section from Ndundori to Lanet! view
  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I also want the Prime Minister to clarify whether there are officers who are under investigation who are still working? In his statement, he said that the answers we get are given to us by officers who are under investigation. If they are there, what are they doing? view
  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is the Prime Minister in order to mislead the House? When he was making his Statement he said that answers that we normally get from the police department, to be precise, are given by officers who are also under investigation. Could he withdraw that remark? view
  • 9 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs over the on-going scandal involving the fraudulent purchase of cemetery land that has seen the President interdict senior civil servants. In his statement he should: (a) Indicate whether he intends to file the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (KACC) Report on the same and when. (b) Confirm the allegation in the Report by the KACC that was sent yesterday to the Prime Minister, hon. Raila Odinga and the Permanent Secretary, Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of Civil Service that a senior ... view
  • 9 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am perturbed by my colleague because I have not mentioned any names. Is he trying to tell us the obvious? (c) Let the Minister explain the role of Mr. Newton Osiemo who according to the KACC represented the interest of the said senior Minister in the scam and was awarded Kshs59 million for the hon. Minister. (d) We would like him to confirm whether Mayor Geoffrey Majiwa received Kshs11 million from the scam as alleged by the KACC. (e) Now that the said senior Minister and His Worship the Mayor are being investigated ... view
  • 2 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to contribute on the President’s Speech. It was a good statement to begin with. At least, it is a new year and he gave a good statement. I want to talk about the fight against poverty. Although we talk about fight against poverty, we still have a lot to do. If we do not think of giving enough money to agricultural areas where we have most of the people who come to towns to work, we will never fight poverty because life in town is very expensive. Although ... view
  • 2 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: The President also mentioned about the IDPs. The issue of IDPs has been with us since 1992, although we really felt it in 2007. We still have very many people living in view
  • 2 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: tents. I urge the Ministry of Lands to buy them land. We are aware that they have Kshs1.4 billion that was given to them to hasten and buy enough land, so that people who are still in tents can be resettled. That money is not supposed to be kept there. It is supposed to buy land to resettle IDPs. On the construction of houses for IDPs, yes, they have been given iron sheets, but timber and stone are very expensive. So, maybe the Minister for State for Special Programmes should also consider doing a full construction rather than giving them ... view
  • 2 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: The President also talked of injecting more funds to New KCC. Although it has come at the right time, it is too late because we saw milk being poured by farmers. I will urge the Government not to come in at the last minute because they have the machinery to know where they should inject more funds and at what time. It is not good to see farmers pouring milk when many Kenyans are starving. We are also very happy because of the reforms that are going on here in Parliament. We are now in the Old Chamber; we have ... view
