  • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Government Constituency Development Fund is not there. Are we going to, again, say that this money is not there? In future, every Member, out of the 290 constituencies, should propose that we put that in the budget, so that we can cushion every person in our constituencies. view
  • 22 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Pursuant to Standing Order No.42A(5), I wish to ask a Question to the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Energy. (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain why, despite there being oversupply of electric power to the national grid, the demand is low? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary also explain why the cost of electricity in Kenya is high compared to other East African Community countries? (iii) Could the Cabinet Secretary further explain why Mavoko Constituency, in particular, and the larger Machakos County are yet to benefit from the Last Mile Connectivity Programme and indicate when the programme will ... view
  • 22 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. When I asked my Question, you did not commit it to any committee. I asked the same Question last September. view

  • 17 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Yes, I am still answering him. You realise most Kenyans, in fact, do not know the difference between tourism and wildlife. It is important for Kenyans to know that wildlife is under the Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural Resources of this House. However, most questions are directed to Tourism, the Ministry under our purview. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 17 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: It is important for Members to know that most of these claims involve a multi-agency approach. Sometimes human-wildlife conflict affects agriculture. Sometimes it affects human life, so that the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government is involved. Sometimes it affects health or tourism. Hon. Chairman, it is important for Members to know that this spreading out of the compensation is not charged to one ministry. view
  • 9 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I stand to support the Budget and Appropriations Committee on the Budget Estimates. I also want to thank the Committee members for standing firm in this exercise. I must echo those Members who are saying these estimates do not reflect the reality on the ground. We are charged to oversee the Ministry in charge of sports, culture and tourism. Generally, when you look at the allocations, they leave a lot to be desired.
