  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I thank you for giving me this opportunity to also support this very important Motion. view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: First, let me indicate that this Motion is very important as Kenyans have been yearning for a clean Judiciary for a long time. The Chair will recall that even some prominent Kenyans have suffered for reforms in the Judiciary. Therefore, it is important that this matter is given due attention and consideration. view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Judiciary is known both locally and internationally as the most corrupt institution on this land. One way of addressing this concern is to very quickly support this Motion. It is in our institutional memory that about one million cases lie unattended in our courts today. Some of the litigants have already passed away as their cases have continued to be unattended. There are some people who are ageing, and they do not know whether their cases will be heard any time soon. view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: It is, therefore, important to realise that fairness and justice have been denied to those Kenyans. Therefore, if we allow this Bill to be debated, vetting of judges and magistrates will take place and this will rekindle confidence and trust in the minds of Kenyans. It is, therefore, important that, without any reservations, we support this Motion. view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I endorse this very timely Motion. view
  • 19 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, you will note from the response given by the Minister that those people are not likely to get their remuneration soon. You will also note that the families have their kids joining universities and secondary schools. What new commitment is the Minister going to give so that the kids of those families are not denied learning in our institutions of higher learning? view
  • 18 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, while appreciating the answer given by the Minister, I would urge him to indicate to this House the measures he is taking to settle the crying Internally Displaced People (IDPs) and the Ndorobos who have been living in forests since time immemorial. view
  • 18 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I thank you for granting me this opportunity to also contribute to this very important Report. First, let me express my gratitude to the Chairman of this Committee, hon. Kapondi. He has led the Committee in a very credible manner, and has been supported so well by the hon. Members serving in the same Committee. We note with a lot of satisfaction the findings and recommendations of this Committee. We also note the wide coverage that was given by the local media to the incidents which were already noted when the Report was being compiled. ... view
  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Ministry for doing a commendable job but could the Assistant Minister undertake that the planned installation of a box culvert at that crossing will be given priority in the next financial year? view
  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, while commendably acknowledging the Statement given by the Prime Minister, could he shed some light on an incident where a Kampala bound bus was intercepted at the Uganda-Kenya Border carrying some grenades? Were any Kenyans arrested and, if so, could he indicate the identity of those Kenyans? view
