  • 23 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has made an effort to reply to issues pertaining to food in our institutions. When our schools went on strike some time last year, one of the reasons was that the school administrations were unable to purchase food for the students. Could the Assistant Minister reconsider his position? This is because our institutions are affected right now by the economic situation in our view
  • 18 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity to ask the Assistant Minister a supplementary question. He has really made a very strong effort to respond to this Question. Could he tell us the specific security arrangements he has put in place to make sure these incidents do not occur again? It is almost clear that there is an elimination squad targeting the elderly in those areas. Could he assure the remaining members of those families that they can move about and carry on with their daily activities without any fear of insecurity in the area? view

  • 17 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you very much for the opportunity to support my colleagues. • 16 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for the chance you have given me to ask one question. As we thank the Minister for ably answering this Question, I would like her to indicate what measures have been taken by the Ministry against the Universal Education Trust Fund (UETF) not to continue recruiting other students so that they are not put under the current predicament. view
  • 4 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Public Health and Sanitation:- (a) what steps she is instituting to construct a mortuary at Lari Health Centre which was opened in 1952; and, (b) what budgetary allocation the Government has factored for this vital facility during the 2008/09 Budget Estimates. view
  • 4 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to appreciate the impressive answer given by the Minister. I recognize her contribution on the new status of Lari District. I would like to request the Minister to consider the fact that Lari District has a population of about 200,000 people. Most of the people in my constituency are not able to transport bodies to Tigoni Hospital. Even when they try to take some to Githunguri, it also becomes very difficult. In the circumstances, could she reconsider her position by way of giving a very humane consideration to this very important matter? view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank the Assistant Minister for his answer. Why were the directives given by the Board not implemented by the Postmaster General? Finally--- view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I want to thank the Assistant Minister for that elaborate answer. With a serious degree of commitment, he has indicated the implementation of the decommissioning of the Dandora Dumpsite. Could he now indicate the amount of funds they have allocated for that project? What is the timeframe, so that we know when this project will be complete? view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, we appreciate the critical role the Government has played in the management of Mboi Kamiti Limited for the last ten years. We are also aware of the magnitude and effects of the mismanagement of this company and its impact if it is not bailed out of its current predicament. Why can the Government being the stakeholder in this company not come up with a package to salvage it, just the way it did with the National Bank of Kenya and the Kenya Commercial Bank? view
