  • 25 Sep 2014 in Senate: Sorry for that, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I would like to request Sen. Kembi-Gitura to give us about two weeks. I believe within that period, we will have spoken to the National Treasury. If possible, we will sit with them and get the correct response. view
  • 25 Sep 2014 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for allowing me to support this good Motion from our hon. Senator. This is a very serious issue of children having babies. It is happening all over the country. I have just listened to the hon. Ongoro narrating what she sees whenever she goes home and at times when she visits counties like Kilifi. I was also expecting her to mention my county. It appears as if every county in this country has this problem. Thank you, Senator for this Motion. This is a big problem that this Senate should fix and ensure that ... view

  • 25 Sep 2014 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. This Motion reminds us that we are not observing what is in the Constitution. In the Constitution, you find that the Government is supposed to be responsible and to make sure that it protects those kinds of children, but that is not happening. I heard the Leader of Minority saying that our Standing Order state that our quorum is 15 Members but it is also our tradition that we always say we have a delegation of 24 Members. It is also good that we honour what the leadership of this House had agreed before. We had agreed that whenever we are less than 24 Members, we defer the voting. view

  • 7 Aug 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I was also listening to the answer from the Chair of the Committee and I sympathize because may be they never even had time to interrogate the Statement. If at all they did, then a lot needs to be answered. You even heard in the Statement that part of the road has been left for the county to work on and they are talking about 22 kilometres. The Ministry of Roads and Infrastructure owes Kenyans a lot in terms of whatever they are supposed to be constructing and maintaining. view
  • 7 Aug 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not just talking about the two roads but I believe there are quite a number in Kenya where the Senate needs to tell the Ministry to be much more serious. They maybe saying that the contractors are on the roads--- view
