  • 24 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Yes. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. The further amendment of carrying to term is extremely important, because the purpose is procreation. It is not only about pregnancy, but about carrying the pregnancy to term. So, I support Hon. Nyikal. view
  • 17 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I want to weigh in on that matter. The most likely response that may come from the Ministry out of this Question is: “We are sorry, but this project is not being implemented within our department.” I believe the Member is right in seeking your indulgence to give a different direction. I am sure you will give the best direction on this one. We are not trying to guide you. view
  • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. As I walked in, I listened to the concern of the Member. As per the schedule given by the Leader of the Majority Party, the Cabinet Secretary was supposed to appear before the Committee this morning to respond to some Questions. As a few of us may be aware, she is bereaved and was unable to come. So, we have pushed forward the responses to our Questions to 24th. • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for this chance. First of all, I would like to say that Aaron Ringera is not a let down to the youth. I believe that is a sad statement. Secondly, I would like to give some guidance to Hon. Makau because I have been a Chair before him; he needs to take this matter seriously. The Constitution and the Standing Orders are on your side. I would also like to say that it is important for the CSs to make a decision on what they want to do. They are so busy and they cannot ... view
  • 21 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: We spoke, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Thank you so much for the opportunity. I start by thanking you very much and also the Whip of the Majority Party because he took up this Petition. The commitment that I would like to give for this is two weeks. I am saying this well aware of the sensitivity of the matter. Also, the Member raises a date on the second page where notices have already been issued for 29th October. So, I would like to commit that the Departmental Committee on Lands is going to liaise with the institutions concerned so that ... view

  • 14 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I had wanted to speak when Hon. Fatuma Gedi was on her feet responding to the issue of a Question being asked and the Committee realised that the response was not satisfactory. I thought it was good that the Committee was able to go through the document and after realizing that it was not satisfactory, made a decision to send it back to the person who had given it. I had wanted to support her on that. That is why I wanted to rise on a point of order. view
