As we discuss the nominee for the position of IG of Police, it is imperative that we realise the importance of the police. Consider what is going through the hearts and minds of the people of South Africa where, continuously, for the last few days, people have been slaughtered like chicken on the streets.   • 3 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: As he takes up office, I want to tell him that there are serious challenges that the police service has. One, which I have mentioned, is the issue of corruption, which he has to deal with. Apparently, it is like the police can almost offer no services without some kind of kickbacks. So, it is important that when this nominee takes up office, he cleans up. Clearly, this is one of the things that we are constantly talking about.
