  • 25 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: I support this Bill; I believe that it should not just be about buildings, Braille or sign language. We should look after every child. Many parents do not take their children to school because nobody knows how to take care of them. Many people will not get jobs because there are no facilities. Many disabled people, particularly those with hearing impairment, will not attend seminars or workshops because there is nobody to interpret the language used for them. We should start with ourselves in this House and make sure that people who represent those with disabilities--- It is not all ... view

  • 19 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker and our great son, hon. Sakaja, for bringing this amendment Bill. I support the Bill because I know that the women of this country, who have given birth to very many young people, would want The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 21 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. I was looking forward to the opportunity and hoping that time would not lapse before I could say what this Bill means to my people of Embu County. Where I come from, we have a lot of elephants “housed” near Mount Kenya. The people around that area have a big problem. Every season, elephants harvest their crops. Sometimes they kill people around there and nothing is done. I also come from near the hydro-electric power dams, where there are so many crocodiles. When our livestock go to drink water ... view
  • 21 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: must be taken care of. If there are funerals, the Government must take it up. We have very many small Harambees that take place there, with people trying to raise money to buy a coffin and pay hospital bills. When the compensation comes, you realise that it is very little money despite the fact that it takes very long to come. Therefore, I support this Bill with amendments, so that our people do not continue wondering whether we respect human life less than wildlife. So, we have to take action very fast. This is very important for my people living ... view
  • 23 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance to contribute to a Motion that is very crucial. I come from a very dry area called “Gachoka Constituency” in Embu County. We have a lot of water up the mountains in Embu County. However, in my constituency and part of Siakago The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 23 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Constituency, what women and children in schools go through is total suffering. We have dams and rivers that provide water and generate electricity to the whole of this country. Although this is the case, we are the least recipient of that electricity and water in our constituency. Women have resulted to buying donkeys and looking for water everywhere. Sometimes they take three hours a day in search of water. During the dry season, those people do almost nothing other than looking for water. The people who live near the dams that supply electricity to our hospitals, schools and the whole ... view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you. I came here very early in the morning because I am so happy with the Mover of this Motion. When I was growing up, I knew that my school fees was coming from the sale of milk. This nation must understand that it is not just the nutritive value of milk that we are looking for. We are also looking at the economy and food production. Kenya has a diversity of climate. In Embu County where I come from, we have a lot of milk that goes for less than Kshs20 a litre. There are other areas in ... view
