  • 24 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. Hon. Pukose is my neighbour and brother and so, we always take care of each other. Hon. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(C), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security regarding the assault of one, Mr. William Moris from Kis Village, Kwanza Sub-county, Trans-Nzoia County by police officers. Hon. Speaker, the above mentioned person was assaulted and detained in Kitale Police Station by police officers on 1st June, 2014. • 24 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I think this question is very simple. That group is known. It is known where they came from and what they did. I can agree to the the ten days, but he has to come up with a comprehensive report about the matter. Thank you. view
  • 27 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I also rise to support. This is because we are dealing with security matters and an issue can take long and then later bring problems. The proposal she is giving is suitable. I support. view
  • 27 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, hon. Deputy Speaker. I also want to thank Members for supporting this Bill. Right now there is a lot of insecurity and I hope those concerned are immediately going to curb this insecurity so that we do not lose lives. Today morning we lost a very important person who was a banker. He was just shot dead. So, I think this insecurity will come to an end. Thank you. view
  • 25 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to add my voice in support of the Motion on the nomination of the two persons. We have known, especially Dr. Ali, for a very long time. As Members have said, Ms. Mumelo is a good lady. I also want to thank the Chair of PSC and the team because they have spread out the nominees. In fact, those two come from hardship and under developed areas of Kenya. We also feel that we are represented. For a long time, only some areas dominated everything; be it job opportunities ... view
  • 12 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you hon. Speaker, for giving me this chance to add my voice to what we are discussing, which is very important. I am a Member of this Committee and I remember we took time discussing these issues. It was not only something that we did in a day or a week; it took months and we invited everybody; including hon. Members from this House who were and are free to come and discuss any issue in any committee as a friend of that committee. Hon. Speaker, personally I support it because if we continue delaying it – there is ... view
  • 12 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: they do. If you go to my place, things have gone haywire because there is no order. If you go to the county police commandant and get instructions, the other side ignores that. So, there is no system in place and, therefore, some have gone and they are now becoming businessmen or even farmers; instead of protecting peoples’ plots they are now invading and grabbing the same land by use of the gun which is supposed to protect people. Hon. Speaker, some police officers have become charcoal burners and sand harvesters; go to a place called Katikomor and you will ... view
  • 12 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: --- Some of us started it and my friend from Nakuru knows it. He wanted to help the people in KANU to take care of the opposition. We gave money but now they are going against us. Therefore, if we allow a situation where security officers do not work, even if we come up with a law which instructs them to do things in a different way--- We have seen several of them being killed. view
