The committee has undertaken extensive engagements with all the relevant stakeholders, including the petitioner, Mr. Nicholas Rono and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Capital Markets Authority (CMA), Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). The committee is finalising its draft report for consideration and adoption. Next is county visits. During the period, the committee undertook a report writing retreat on 23rd March, 2024, in Machakos County to consider the following legislative business. Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I also want to strongly support this amendment to the County Governments (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bills No.25 of 2023). I appreciate and thank Sen. Cherarkey for coming up with this amendment. I believe that this will be quite handy in terms of counties. Particularly on the section of county governments, the CECMs have been removed sometimes, for no reason by governors in the counties.
