  • 7 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I would like to seek a clarification from hon. Kamama. If I got the response well, hon. Lati sought a Statement on the so- called cattle rustling which is not cattle rustling as such but a business which is being conducted by tycoons with the Provincial Administration and some security personnel. I have not heard hon. Kamama tell us whether anybody is investigating into that business which has become pain in this country. Hon. Speaker, secondly, about the extrajudicial killings by the police, this student was killed and what I heard hon. Kamama saying is that ... view
  • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. From the outset, I support the Report. I commend the Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs. For the dissenting voices from the same Committee, I find it mischievous. Again, I sympathise with the few who dissented. I understand because baba must watch from where he is seated and see that hon. Kaluma fought vigorously to disband the Commission although he does not mean that. view

  • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, the IEBC did a commendable job. We elect leaders but God chooses leaders. Those of you who are seated in this House were not elected 100 per cent by your constituents. Some elected your opponent, but God chose you to be leaders, including the President and the Deputy President of this country. They are chosen by God. I am a duly nominated Member of the National Assembly by the numbers marshaled by the URP Party including the Leader of Majority Party. The procedure for removal of the Commissioners from office is clearly stipulated in Article 251 of the ... view

  • 4 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I wish the Chair of the Committee would have clarified what action the Government intends to take on the police men who are using live bullets on peaceful demonstrations. I think that habit by the police is going out of hand. Recently in Laikipia, most hon. Members of this House saw the police dragging me on the tarmac and firing live bullets on 250 women from my constituency who were just demonstrating peacefully. I still carry the spent cartridges of the live bullets which were fired by the police. It is a high time we ... view
  • 30 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. The casual manner in which the Cabinet Secretary is treating this crucial issue of insecurity is annoying. I do not know if security has acquired a new meaning, according to the security agencies of this country. When I listen to the responses given by hon. Kamama, as much as he is not the architect of this Statement, I would honestly plead with him and the Committee on security to scrutinize these Statements before they bring them here. It is annoying when a Cabinet Secretary misleads this House; brings white lies, purportedly saying that it is a ... view

  • 30 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: The clarification I am seeking is, Tassia Lodge is closed, but the Cabinet Secretary is saying that it is not closed because of insecurity. Then, why is it closed? I am a member of that group ranch and I can confirm that the group ranch is not bankrupt, it not closed because they are broke! view
