  • 8 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to reluctantly support the Appropriation Bill that has flouted the understanding that was there with the Budget Committee. However, in the interest of the country, it is important that we pass this Bill. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Minister has said that they are negotiating with the teachers. In the Budget Committee, we set aside Kshs5 billion for the teachers, but that has been altered. In the public view, there has been misinformation that the money that is being used to pay taxes for Members of Parliament is the same money that ... view

  • 8 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, that is what I want to address. We were informed by Mr. Kimunya himself that the money that was the proceeds of the sale of the Grand Regency Hotel was actually ring-fenced for use of the Lamu Port. I remember that. However, the public has been misinformed and we have been at pariah with the public that we have used the teacher’s money to ... view

He or she goes to the court and the court orders his or her reinstatement but the Commissioner of Police refuses to reinstate the person. That is the first thing ... view

  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also rise to congratulate our Kenyan heroes. We met them today at the airport and I asked His Excellency the Vice- President: “How come we did not meet them in the VIP Lounge?” I hope and pray that henceforth, we will meet all our heroes at the VIP Lounge. view
