  • 15 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Asante, Mhe. Naibu Spika.

  • 1 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I want to take this opportunity to thank the President and congratulate him for the Speech he gave touching on many issues, which are very crucial to Kenyans. I want to start with the corruption issue. Looking at this Report, it is kind of a very shallow report from the EACC. It says that most of these issues or allegations against the people concerned are from 2011/2012 up to 2014. If investigations have not been completed from 2011, what will they do in the next 60 days? The issue of corruption needs to be ... view
  • 1 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: On the issue of security, security is wanting in this country. I want to start from Lamu, from the time we were hit in Lamu, Mpeketoni, to date we are suffering. We are suffering and I want to give an example. Since Independence, Lamu has not had even one kilometre of tarmac; the worst thing is when you are travelling in the morning, afternoon, midday or any other time; all buses are put in one place and eight buses are escorted by one escort car. To me, that is a way of even telling the terrorists that we are putting ... view
  • 1 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the Cabinet Secretary was talking of nuclear energy. What measures are we putting in place? As much as we want to increase the amount of electricity, we have to take care of our people. We need to think about how we are going to safeguard their lives and health. This is because these projects pose a lot of health hazard to Kenyans. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 6 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Thank hon. Speaker. I want to thank the Chairman for the very shallow answer he has given me. It is very sad for such an incident to have happened and to see that there are more questions than answers to it. We have the National Security Intelligence. What was the nature of the intelligence report which was presented prior to the attack? When was the report presented and what did it say? There were 69 people arrested; why were only three taken to court? I know that one of the three is my governor, who has not even been charged ... view
  • 6 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I just want to seek clarification. Is it in order for the Government to deny the people who are suffering money so as to keep it to await another disaster that they do not know when it will come? Do they have arrangements in place? view
  • 6 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Is it in order for the Chairman to mislead the House by saying that the County Commissioner was transferred and yet his transfer was out before the attack? view
  • 5 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I would, first of all, like to thank the Mover of this Motion for bringing this issue to the House. As you understand, Lamu has suffered big time. We have suffered because of insecurity and now we are suffering because of land. It is very unfair to mix insecurity and land issues. Land injustice did not start in 2011 or 2012 in Lamu. It started way back. view
  • 5 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: If this Government is willing and is ready to address the land issues in Lamu, it should not do it selectively. Rather, it should do it wholesome. There is a lot of misleading information from the Cabinet Secretary. Lamu consists of 1,605,750 acres of land. If you remove 500,000 acres, that is 30 per cent and not 70 per cent. That is already misleading information. Out of the 500,000 acres, 230, 000 acres is community land in The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
