  • 15 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to thank the Assistant Minister for making that pledge. He has said that he will pay the people who deserve to be compensated for the destruction caused by the way-leave. But it is seems that the Ministry has to wait for Questions to be asked in Parliament so that the people can be compensated for destruction occasional by the way-leave. There are so many other places where compensation has also not been paid. However, I am happy that he is going to pay in August. view
  • 15 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am satisfied with the answers given by the Assistant Minister. view
  • 14 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Water and Irrigation- (a) what plans the Ministry has to supply clean and sufficient water to Timau Township; (b) if he could consider sinking a borehole for Timau Sub-District hospital to alleviate the water shortage in the hospital in the financial year 2010/2011; and, (c) if he could also consider constructing a sewerage system for Timau Township, which is expanding rapidly. view
  • 14 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the answer given is very casual. I came from Timau and I can confirm there is nothing which is going on there. I would wish the Assistant Minister to tell me the progress of the work, when it started, how far it has gone and how he expects the sub-district hospital to continue running without water. view
  • 14 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the same Assistant Minister in reply to another of my Questions told me that Makutano Township was going to get Kshs700 million for our sewerage expansion. Today, he is promising me some money for the rehabilitation of the water system in Timau. Is it going to be real or it will be a mirage like in the case of Makutano? view
  • 14 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Could the Assistant Minister tell this House how far the work at Makutano has gone if it is not true? The financial year ended two years ago. view
  • 14 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has said that the road will be repaired within this financial year. Since it is in a state of disrepair, could he specifically say when it will start because the financial year runs from July to June 2011? Could he specify which month because motorists cannot continue suffering and the farmers cannot continue using that long route to take their produce to the market? view
  • 13 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Education the following Question by Private Notice. (a) What circumstances led to the death of Joyce Gakii, a Form III Student of Makuri Girls High School in Maara District? (b) Could the Minister confirm whether there was negligence by the school administration, how long the girl was ill in school and how many times the Principal visited the girl in hospital? (c) Who reported the admission to hospital and subsequent death to the parents and who from the school attended the student’s funeral? view
  • 13 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this Question came here about a week ago. The Assistant Minister had a lot of time to do the investigations. When he seeks a further two weeks, I presume he is using delaying tactics. I will not mind if you give him two or three days but not two weeks. view
