  • 5 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, between now and January is two months. We are in the same financial year that we will be in January. Why is it necessary to wait up to next year so that re-sealing can start instead of re-sealing right now? view
  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Could the Minister explain the circumstances surrounding the shooting to death of an unarmed Police Constable Alex Muriuki Kiramana at Nthambiro Shopping Centre, Igembe South District, on 3rd September, 2008? (b) Could the Minister explain the status of the investigations into the killing so far, and state what action he will take against the culprit(s)? (c) When will the Government compensate the family of the deceased, considering that he was the sole bread winner of ... view
  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, from the Assistant Minister's answer, there are a lot of contradictions. On the one hand, he has said that Mr. Muriuki was declared a deserter and on the other hand he has said that he was a suspect. Once an officer deserts duty, does that call for him to be extra-judiciary terminated? Is it the policy of the police force to kill their officers who desert duty? This man was not armed. He was at a shopping centre doing his business. Why was it not prudent to arrest him and arraign him in a court of ... view
  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this is a cover-up! The same people who killed this person are the ones who have given the Assistant Minister the information. Why is it necessary to have an inquest if the circumstances of the killing and the killers are known? Why can the Assistant Minister not take them to court? They are known! view
  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. When did robbery become a business? view
  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. How can the Assistant Minister say that this man was a robber before the inquest proves that he was one? view
  • 28 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Public Health and Sanitation:- (a) whether she is aware that Ruiri Health Centre in Imenti North District has a GoK vehicle but no driver; and, (b) what steps she is taking to employ or post a driver to the health centre. view
  • 28 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, first, I wish to complain that I have not received any written answer from the Assistant Minister. However, if the Assistant Minister has identified a driver, when will he be deployed to Ruiri Health Centre? Ruiri Health Centre is in need of a driver. It has taken the Ministry long to deploy a driver to the health centre. view
  • 28 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, if a driver has been identified, I do not view
  • 28 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: understand why it is going to take three weeks for him to be deployed to Ruiri Health Centre. What will take him that long? What is being done for him to go there? Why would it take three weeks for a driver to be taken to Ruiri? Is it that Ruiri is so far that the driver cannot go there tomorrow? view
