Member has any information as to their deficiencies, I am willing to investigate and discuss their suitability. As of now, I do not have those details since that was not amongst the issues raised when this Ministerial Statement was sought.

First and foremost, I would like to inform the House that famine never started yesterday with the human settlement in the Mau Forest Complex. Famine was there in 1933 in our place. It killed many people. In 1943, we even moved from our original homes to other places as a result of famine. We should accept that this is a global phenomenon but not because of a particular place. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. On 11th June, 2009, Mr. David Wachira reported to Kerugoya Police Station that his sister-in-law, Assunta Wanjiku Gichuki, aged 50 years had gone missing. The report was booked in the Occurrence Book (OB) No.19/11/6/09. Later, a signal of missing person was circulated to all police stations in Kenya vide OB.No.17/7/7/09. Preliminary investigations reveal that the said Assunta Wanjiku Gichuki was picked from her residence in Kibingo Village by persons whose identities are yet to be established and then taken to an undisclosed location.
