The wards and the theatre are not yet equipped and we do not have other facilities like a mortuary--- The Head of State will visit the hospital on 18th September. What special arrangements is the Ministry making to ensure that when the Head of State visits the institution, all those projects are complete and he is received well by the people of the area? view

  • 11 Sep 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have asked this Question because most of the people who are arrested in Teso District, even for very petty offences, are transported all the way to Busia or Bungoma districts. In the process, at times road accidents occur and these people die. Malaba Town Council has a hall which can be used as a court. Could the Assistant Minister send some judges and magistrates there, so that most cases can be heard at the Malaba Town Council hall, instead of taking people to Bungoma or Busia districts? view

Another Kshs2 million was raised by Members of Parliament from Western Province led by the hon. Mudavadi, and it was deposited in the district treasury. Whenever a question about these monies is raised in Teso, and the meeting has to be chaired by the District Commissioner (DC)--- The first DC, Mr. Mwasera, was transferred and promoted to a Provincial Commissioner (PC). That is why, after every five or six months, a new DC is brought. Another one dies mysteriously. That is why this matter is mysterious. We have to get to the root cause of all those problems. view
