  • 20 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, as the Assistant Minister has heard, Mr. Bifwoli is very bitter because, in the first phase of Angurai Water Project, the water line emanated from Malakisi and passed through Mr. Bifwoli's constituency to Teso District. We launched the second phase of the project recently at Angurai in Teso District, and Mr. Bifwoli is also not happy about it. Could the Assistant Minister assure the people of Bumula, and Mr. Bifwoli, that they will be given some money to complete the on-going project, so that they can also have water as soon as possible? • 19 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to register my support for the Motion as amended. Shelter in our rural areas has become a very big problem. If you visit some areas in Western Province, where the Minister for Housing comes from, you will see the poor conditions in which our people live. The Minister should work very hard to prove to our people that he is doing a good job. Most of our people prefer to live in grass thatched houses; even well to do people do so. So, I urge the Minister to go out of his way ... view
  • 19 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: I am talking about a real government, and not a camouflaged one like the one we have. If such a government comes to power, such unplanned structures will be pulled down and people will lose their investments. Finally, I encourage the Minister to work hard because shelter is a basic right. It is necessary, just as food and water are in Ukambani and North Eastern respectively. So, I appeal to him to ensure that when he goes to Cabinet meetings, he pushes for more money for his Ministry. view

  • 12 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to thank the Minister for that very good answer. When the NARC administration took over the leadership of this country, it promised to modernise the Judiciary by establishing a HANSARD unit in the Judiciary so that we could have verbatim recording of court proceedings. What has happened to that programme? view
  • 12 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, some of the magistrates and judges were struck off from the Judicial Service Commission because they were corrupt. However, those same magistrates and judges have opened their own private law firms and are now corrupting the clean ones we have. What action will the Government take to ensure that those magistrates and judges who are corrupt do not practice because thy are corrupting the clean ones? view
  • 4 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to send apologies from Archbishop Ondiek. He is held up in town. However, he has requested me to ask his Question on his behalf instead of it being dropped. view
  • 4 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am prepared to ask the Question because he is my neighbour at home. view
