Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) There are a total of 22 communal dips in Samburu District, but only one is operational. In addition, there are two other dips, one being operated by Kenya Youth Service and the other by Nomotio Livestock Improvement Centre. (b) The management of dips countrywide was handed over to farmers in 1991, as it was realized that the community could manage the dips. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to assure the hon. Member that we have very qualified veterinary officers on the ground. If there is any problem, they are there to handle it immediately. So, I do not see any cause for alarm.
