  • 11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: other barriers like looking for documents. Why would they be asked to get a debt free clearance? Which money do they owe and whom do they owe? They have never been employed and have not made money because they are school leavers. They have just done their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) or have come out of university or colleges. They do not have money. view
  • 11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: So, I totally support the Motion. We should protect our youth and create a conducive environment where our young people can look for opportunities out there. There should be information. If you are looking for information regarding any person, you can do so with the modern technology and with the advancement of technology in Kenya and around the world. The Government or an employer should find that information. This is a wonderful Motion and it is going to be a great relief. I support. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, before you took the Chair, the Deputy Speaker mentioned… view
  • 21 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I want to appreciate this Motion. In my Constituency, Lurambi in Kakamega, we had an issue where a child was murdered. That was not the doing of the police, but I saw what the reaction was. I found myself on the side of the police even though as a politician, naturally, I should be on the side of the people. Police are generally condemned. For every bad thing, the blame ends with them. Our policemen live in deplorable conditions. The policemen and police women are human beings. They are just like any other Kenyans. They deserve ... view
  • 21 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: house and those of other officers were leaking terribly. It was literally raining in those houses. I also spoke to the County Commander of Kakamega County who told me he had to spend his own money to work on a Government house that he was going to occupy. Hon. Deputy Speaker, we are the custodians of the people of this country and we speak on their behalf. We are their voice. The police out there are bashed. For some reason, I did not like them because they were throwing teargas at me. Being a preacher on the other hand, I ... view
  • 21 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I have read and I preach about it very much. When it is about preaching, I really preach about it, but I know that part which talks about those who work in the pulpit. It says that those who work at the pulpit shall eat from the pulpit. It is a catch-22 situation. view
  • 21 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Dr. Nyikal says he has not heard about it, but it is in the Bible. So, Hon. Deputy Speaker, we also have to think about the welfare of others. Instead of blanket condemnation, let us think about how we can improve their welfare and their salaries. The SRC should not be thinking about cutting down their salary. Do you ordinarily think of bringing somebody wage down or increasing it? There is a way you can cut costs but maintain somebody’s salary. You cannot talk about scaling it downwards. You have to think about how you maintain or take it upward. ... view
  • 21 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: To end these things, let us look at the police officers’ welfare, make it lucrative, fix it upwards and demand that they change their behaviour. We also want to reduce the suicide missions that are rampant in the police service, where people live under duress and stress. view
  • 21 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I support the Motion. view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me an opportunity in this Honourable House. I would like to join the Hon. Members in offering my condolences on behalf of my family and the people of Lurambi to the family of our departed brother, Hon. Francis Nyenze, and his wonderful constituents of Kitui West. I stand to support the issue of the NG-CDF Committees, especially on the gazettement of the nominees. Also, it is my sincere prayer that the leadership will take this seriously from now and move as quickly as yesterday so that our members are gazetted. Remember, when ... view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, it is high time we stopped burying our heads in the sand on this issue. Hon. Members, when people look at you out there, they see the NG-CDF. They do not understand these other issues about managers, the High Court, the appellate Court and the civil society. When you are out campaigning, our constituents know you are the person who will bring projects to the community. They know you are the person who has the NG-CDF. As time goes by, we should affirm our position so that we do not sit on the fence when it ... view
