  • 30 May 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Chairlady. I stand here as a sportsperson. The nation and the Members of Parliament need to listen to this. What the betting industry has done to the sports industry in this country is more than any other industry has ever done. I want the Leader of the Majority Party to listen. I know he is very passionate about betting because of his religion. The problem of betting cannot be solved by killing an industry. It will only be solved by an injection of morality into our kids in our churches and mosques. That is why I said ... view

  • 17 May 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the chance to contribute to this very important Bill. I join hands with all the Members of Parliament to support this Bill. I think it has come at the right time or even late. We should have done this long time ago. I thank Hon. Ochieng for thinking ahead for all Kenyans and doing his job as a Member of Parliament to safeguard the future of this country. The first thing that any country that wants to grow or wants to move from a third world country to a developing nation ... view

  • 17 May 2017 in National Assembly: way. Our nation has become a nation that is run by cartels. I remember very well that His Excellency the Presidents once said that the problem he is facing as a president is the cartels that have been able to infiltrate into the nation’s main ministries. That is happening even with the crisis of unga that we are facing right now as a country. I am a farmer. I grow a lot of maize and the people of Cherangany grow a lot of maize. If you come to Cherangany right now – and I would like to invite all Members ... view

  • 17 May 2017 in National Assembly: I wrote a proposal on the establishment of a price controlled mechanism, a board that will sit down and decide the cost of production vis-a-vis the availability of those products and come up with the selling price the same way we have price controls for fuel. If we did not have price controls for fuel, the cartels would be killing this country. You would not be driving your car now because the price of fuel would be very high. That has been managed by a controlled mechanism that we have to control the price. If we want the best for ... view
