  • 18 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: Many a time, the Movers are the Leader of the Majority Party and occasionally the Leader of the Minority party, chairpersons of various committees and Members when they are moving Private Members’ Motions or Bills. It should become incumbent upon them to spare time and be patient enough to sit those long hours to listen to Members’ views because we do not debate here in vain. We do it to enrich Motions, Bills and whatever comes in this House. view
  • 18 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: Secondly, Hon. Millie Odhiambo and Hon. Maoka Maore have raised the issue of ranking. Indeed, it is a practice all over that there is a form of ranking to enable enriching of any debate. However, the question we need to put here in mind is whether the ranking is merely based on the number of terms you have served in this House. Does that mean that merely serving here for five terms makes you an expert literally in everything being debated on the Floor of the House so that you are given the ranking? However long I serve here, it ... view
  • 18 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: As I conclude, many of us know that leadership in many committees, probably, was never done in a democratic manner. That is a fact that everybody knows. • 5 Dec 2019 in National Assembly: I support the amendments. My only concern is the amount set aside for capacity building, evaluation and the rest is inordinately high compared to what has been set aside for the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA). I would imagine that an arrangement could be made so that more money is set aside towards actual development rather than administrative expense. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. view

  • 5 Dec 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I join my colleagues in mourning those who have lost their lives (The recorded 132). Floods have been a menace for many years in this country and with the climate change, we expect more disasters. I request that the National Government intervenes as soon as possible on roads that have been destroyed. In Funyula, the Mathayos-Ganjela-Nangina Road is not passable. Nangina-Sigame-Sio Port is not passable because of water flowing from Ageng’a Hills. We, therefore, ask for immediate intervention that once the rains have stopped, adequate funds be provided to help us repair the roads. ... view
