  • 26 Nov 2019 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, Hon. Speaker, I support the Bill. However, we will improve it at the most appropriate time. Thank you. view
  • 21 Nov 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for this opportunity. I have gone through the Report and it contains a lot. Knowing the limitations of Parliament, a number of allegations in the Report have not been verified. While it is abhorrent to leak official documents, indeed, it is also not fair to stand in public and debate the conduct of our colleague. Now that we have placed a gag on this matter laid before the House… view
  • 21 Nov 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I am well guided. I made reference to two issues. One, we are Honourable Members and we are colleagues. • 21 Nov 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, without even going through electronic or complicated counting system, we can see that the numbers here are very few. We do not have enough numbers to transact business as contemplated under Standing Order No.35. We seek your guidance on how to proceed in view of the importance at hand. In any case, all the matters before the House are important, but this could be extremely important being such an emotive issue that requires proper debate and discussion. Thank you. view

Let us develop a very typical scenario. The county attorney-general is reappointed midway or in the last year of the outgoing governor. It means that the new governor is stuck with the existing attorney-general for a period that he does not intend. Let us give latitude to the governor to hire whenever it is necessary. A governor can be mischievous and renew the term of the county attorney-general towards his last year in ... view
