  • 30 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Ichung’wah primarily because where I come from, Marakwet West, we have some arid area along Kerio Valley, where most of the farmers grow finger millet, sorghum and millet. This is what we have lived on for a long time. So, this will change these crops from being subsistence crops to being cash crops; we will sell them to beer brewing firms, and farmers will greatly benefit. I support that we pass this Bill pretty fast. view

One, I am one of the products of free education. I remember in 1974 when most of us had not been born, His Excellency Mzee Kenyatta compelled all parents to take children to school. Two years before then, my elder brother had dropped out of school because my father could not afford to pay Kshs30 for my brother to go to Class One. I am an expert in Information Technology (IT) but for the last two years I have not been practising. There are things that I have lost. So, I insist that it is important for the Auditor-General to be a practising auditor so that at least--- There are some current things that are going on that you need to appraise yourself by practising. view
