Duale. The Data Protection Bill, 2019, was sponsored by the Leader of the Majority Party and was read the First Time on 4th July 2019 and subsequently referred to our Committee. From the memorandum of objects and reasons, the principal object of this Bill is to give effect to the right of privacy as provided for in Article 31(c) and (d) of the Constitution. In considering the Bill, the Committee carried out an extensive public participation process where an advert was placed in the local dailies on 11th July 2019 requesting the public to submit their views on the Bill. Article 31(d) gives the right to privacy of communications. I believe we are suspecting, especially leaders, that when we speak on phone, there are people who listen. • 8 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Chairman. I rise to support. I believe the ground rent by the Leader of the Majority Party means what the owner of each unit will pay to the company owning the ground. When you build a flat there are sub-units but the original title is owned by shareholders of the units. I support. view
  • 25 Sep 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I also stand to support the amendment because in the past, we have been doing a lot of digital business but Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) did not have opportunity to tax because there were no policies and regulations in place to allow them to tax. So, this is the right way to go so that we can enhance our revenue collection. view
