  • 15 May 2024 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I take this opportunity to thank Sen. Maanzo, Sen. Cherarkey, Sen. (Dr.) Oburu, Sen. Chute, Sen. Mungatana and Sen. Mundigi who have been able to contribute to this Motion. I am very passionate about this Motion and compensation of the victims of the 1998 bomb blast because when you meet them, some are totally blind. They were born seeing just like us, but today, they cannot see and so, they cannot do many things for themselves. They are not even able to work because of the effects of the bomb blast. Others are paralysed on ... view
  • 15 May 2024 in Senate: done. It is not in my position. Therefore, I am asking the President and the Cabinet Secretary for Diaspora and Foreign Affairs to do what is needful. These are our people who sleep hungry and go without medication. I am requesting that what can be done locally be done. We also have the fund that was formed here in 2012 under the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government. I ask the Cabinet Secretary Hon. (Prof.) Kindiki to organise this fund, so that he can also see what he can do for these victims as we wait for the ... view

  • 8 May 2024 in Senate: governors, to negotiate and agree on issues that are making doctors to not report back to work. We are losing many people who could have been saved if doctors treated them. They are however dying every day. We are receiving so many calls to contribute money for burials due to the lack of medication and treatment in hospitals. I support this Statement. I pray that Sen. Mandago, the Chairperson of the Committee on Health, will push both sides; the national Government side and the governors to agree with the doctors and do whatever they are asking for. I support. view
  • 8 May 2024 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, allow me to start by congratulating the Cabinet Secretary. Whenever he is called here, he always comes unless he is busy doing his job. I commend you for that because others are called here, but they do not appear. My question is about the recently gazetted sub-counties. I remember well when you assumed office, you called us as leaders of Machakos County led by the governor. We all came to your office and you requested us to give you our first priorities that we needed to be done for Machakos. We requested that Kalama be separated ... view

  • 7 May 2024 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to comment on the Statement from Sen. Mumma, which was read by the nominated Senator from Kisii. The rains have caused a lot of damage not only in Nairobi, but all counties. Let me speak particularly about Machakos County. That is why I urge that money that has been allocated to the people of Mathare should be extended to other counties, especially Machakos. Talking about Syokimau and many other parts of Machakos, people have nowhere to sleep. People decided to build on riparian land and now the water has to ... view
