  • 7 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to air my voice on this important Motion that has been brought to the Floor. As you are aware, many of our youth, not only the youth but also the elderly of above 35 years old, never had an opportunity of completing KCPE at the primary school level or even the secondary school level. They ended up dropping out of schools because of one reason or another. Most of these Kenyans are highly skilled. They have learnt the skills from the various areas they have gone to seek employment. ... view
  • 7 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: This is a very important Motion. I also want to support what Hon. Wamalwa has just said when we were discussing the political parties and what have you. We do not want this Motion to end up gathering dust somewhere because we have discussed it. Each Member has contributed. It is an important Bill and we all appreciate that. But, we want action on this so that we can take it forward. With those few remarks, I strongly support the Motion. view

  • 25 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to this important Motion that has been brought to the House by Hon. Mbui. If you remember, two months ago, we had an incident at Moi Girls High School in Nairobi where three young innocent girls were raped. Unfortunately three months down the line, the culprits have never been found. If at that point in time this school had installed CCTV cameras, today that matter would have been brought to rest but because of lack of these gadgets in our schools, it has actually exposed our ... view
  • 25 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: In recent weeks, we have seen a number of schools that have been torched. Whenever something happens in one of the schools and nothing is done to bring the culprits or whoever has been involved in that incident, other boys try to imitate and do what other boys have done. This is part of the growing up. It is my wish that as a country and as a House, we need to do something urgently to make sure that we address this issue of safety in our schools. One of the ways to improve the safety in our boarding schools ... view
  • 18 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon.Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to comment on this important Motion that has been brought here by Hon. Martha Wangari. Hon. Martha Wangari is a woman. You will bear me witness that if you visit any registration center today, you will find women there with their children to have them registered. So, from that angle, she has brought this Motion as a mother and woman. She is very caring for her to think about the challenges our women and mothers face at the constituency level. Registration of persons is a matter of national security. Today, ... view
  • 18 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: As MPs we have two key functions we are allowed to do with the NG-CDF kitty, they are education and security. Therefore, this matter will automatically fall under security and we can allocate some funds and put up these centres at the constituency level. Registration of persons, The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only. Acertified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 18 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: which we are talking about, is one of the most vital documents in this country today. Last year, students were not being registered to sit for the national examinations if they did not have a birth certificate. You can image the trauma and pain parents went through to acquire this document so that their children could be registered in good time to sit for the national examinations. view
