  • 26 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. One thing is that gayism and lesbianism are from the western culture. Actually, it is an influence from the West, and over the years we have suffered a lot of harm because of this influence. Sometime back we were told that even HIV/AIDS originated from Western culture. The Western culture has also come to us in the name of dress. Some of our ladies are dressing in a very awkward manner. They wear miniskirts and to me this practice will continue. It will spread throughout the country. view

  • 26 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I am going there. My clarification is, since we are a sovereign State, can we just be brave enough and outlaw gayism and lesbianism? • 4 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I rise to support the Report of the Committee. I would like to say that the Committee had ample time to deliberate and come up with clear information about the candidates who appeared before it. Therefore, I support the appointment of Mbogori, Suzanne and George. I also support the rejection of the last member because of what has been said by the Committee. view
  • 4 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: My expectation is that these members will play their critical role at KNCHR, going by what we have experienced in previous Governments, especially in the last Government. The members who were in the Commission at that time had over-stepped their mandate and involved themselves heavily in politics. They veered off from the normal work that they were supposed to do. There are very many issues affecting Kenyans in terms of human rights but, going by experience, they did not play their role very well on that matter. view
  • 4 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: On the candidate that was rejected, it is very clear that he did not know what he was doing because we are not managers of the Constituencies Development Fund (CDF). Our role is clearly stipulated in our laws. There is an Act of Parliament that states our roles. view
  • 4 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Besides that, I want to take this opportunity, first of all, to congratulate my home county, Samburu, for topping in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results that was released yesterday. Samburu County has been, for a long time, associated with bad news because of the challenges that we have been facing, especially last year. There were conflicts and drought but because of the hard-work by parents, teachers, management committees and students, we are ranked number one in the country. I think-- - view
