  • 19 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: There is also the issue of unemployment and education. Unemployment and lack of education encourage banditry. We need to invest more in future to ensure that the young men who deal with banditry are educated. More schools should be opened in the areas that are affected by cattle rustling. view
  • 19 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: The other issue is about electricity connectivity. I know it has been happening everywhere in the country. However, where I come from, we find it is difficult because REA and KPLC have done nothing in those areas, especially in my constituency. Apart from a small unreliable generator in Baragoi Town, the entire sub-county is in the dark. There is no electricity yet there are funds which come through constituencies. The institutions dealing with this kind of work are weak and cannot handle the work that we expect them to do. view

  • 5 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. I want to congratulate the Committee for the good work. I am sure the Committee had its own work cut out for this exercise. I am sure they looked at integrity. These Ambassadors must have gone through that; leadership qualities, qualifications and any other requirement for appointment. The Committee must have done this as it is indicated in the Report. Ambassadors are supposed to create good relationships between countries. Since these officers have been career civil servants and diplomats, I am sure they will build a good image of Kenya. • 5 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: District Officers when we were young and he is an example of those with vast experience in the Civil Service. When it comes to the ages of these appointees, in view of what Hon. Omulele said, everyone is entitled to the benefits that a country can give. The youth have their role, and so do the old. Experience is an important factor when it comes to ambassadorial positions. This country is big and has the resources that if well utilized, can cater for both the youth and the old. Hon. Speaker, countries like Sudan and Israel require ambassadors who have ... view
  • 15 Oct 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I concur with my colleague from Narok. Apart from concurring with him, I also congratulate the TSC County Director of Education for Samburu because this time, they have done very well. The issue at hand is about accessibility of the TSC by Members. There is a problem between us and that office in Nairobi. These issues could have you been ironed out very quickly, but when we go to the TSC, we can never see the CEO even if we sit there the whole day. We are The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report ... view
