On a point of order, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Is the Hon. Member really in order to insinuate that the Government is ignoring rulings when we know very well that most of the rulings were made during the previous Government? The Government is very young, and I do not think that there is a single ruling that the Government has neglected or refused to honour. I think the Hon. Member is out of order to state that the Government is ignoring any such advice.

Those deaths could have been prevented if the diseases were detected earlier. We need to sensitize our people on the need to have medical check-ups. I am told the most vulnerable group is from 40 years upwards for cervical and prostrate cancers. We must take up the culture of ...

From the Report that we have, it is clear that this is a lady who has had a remarkable career in law. She was the first lady to start her own law firm in Kenya, and that is quite remarkable. She has also served in the Judiciary for a long time, and remarkably so. Despite, maybe, the a few errors that might have been pointed out, overall she is somebody who will bring a lot of experience to the practice of law and justice in Kenya. She has also managed to venture into areas where many people have been hesitant ...

When it comes to the issue of salary, I am glad that she is willing to continue with the same salary. We also realise that the Judiciary, unlike Parliament, was able to continue with the structure that was there before. That aspect was recognised and respected because there is the Judicial Service Commission. Similarly, Parliament should have had its own terms and conditions decided by the Parliamentary Service Commission. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, looking at the debate that was here before, I am also happy to digress a little and say that this House has reinstated its dignity. It ...
