• 6 Aug 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I do not know whether you heard Ms. S. Abdalla say that, as I speak now, there are four trawlers fishing within the first five nautical miles of our Indian Ocean waters in Ungwana Bay. Withdrawing the licence is not good enough! You are not even patrolling our sea area. What is the Government seriously doing to ensure that the local fishermen, whose livelihoods are grossly affected, are properly protected by the elected Government? view
• 6 Aug 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister is misleading the House because airlifts were being done! In the last Parliament, the then Minister for Foreign Affairs airlifted, out of 40 scholarships from Morocco, 35 students from his own constituency! Why not from northern Kenya? These Ministers, whatever scholarships they get, they use them for their own political gains! That is a fact! They only come here to mislead the House! view

• 6 Aug 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, in the last Parliament, most of us never got any money from the Water Trust. Could the Minister appoint more women in those boards? For example, in the National Irrigation Board and clarify that this time round we will get water. The biggest town in my constituency which is Matuu Town has no water! Could she take immediate action? Whatever changes she requires to do, could she do them yesterday? view
• 6 Aug 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like the Minister to clarify the following: This was a contract between civil servants and the Government. The Government is now in breach. Why did it take over one-and-half years for the Government to make a decision on whether to sell the houses or not? Secondly, the remarks made by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Tirop Kosgey, and one of the Assistant Ministers, have really demoralised the civil servants in question. It came to the Floor of the House because certain schools raised the issue and said that in their laboratories, Alvaro has tested positive for alcohol. When the Minister says that Alvaro cannot test positive for alcohol, does it mean that our children are being taught the wrong techniques of testing alcohol in the laboratories? view
