  • 31 May 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. It has become common practice by Ministers to say that the answers from their Ministries are either misleading or are unsatisfactory. Is it possible for the Chair to order the Ministers to ensure that they do their work at the Ministries before they come to the House, to save time on Question Time? view
  • 31 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, hon. Members from Embu and Mbeere districts are very lucky to have been tricked by the Minister to attend the sensitization workshop in that area. Hon. Members from Machakos District are neither tricked to attend such workshops nor are they consulted. Could the Assistant Minister ensure that before such appointments are made, there is adequate consultation with all interested parties, including Members of Parliament? view
  • 4 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Water and Irrigation the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Is the Minister aware that Yatta Canal has breached at Kilometre 51? (b) Is he further aware that the canal needs rehabilitation? (c) What action is he taking to ensure that the canal project does not collapse? view
  • 4 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have no problem with that provided I am promised an answer on Tuesday next week. view
  • 3 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, TARDA concentrates only on the Tana River side. What is TARDA doing on the Athi River side to ensure that the people also benefit from irrigation? view
  • 3 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Water and Irrigation the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Is the Minister aware that Munina Dam, which was constructed with funds from the donor community, is about to burst? (b) What action is he taking to ensure that the dam is not destroyed? (c) What measures is the Minister taking to ensure that projects funded by the donor community are carried out properly and to acceptable standards? view
  • 3 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to inform the Assistant Minister that if the dam was to breach, part of the Thika-Garissa Road Bridge would be swept away at Matuu. Secondly, people living downstream would be at risk, therefore, he needs to act very fast. 890 view
  • 3 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, as much as the Assistant Minister might want to go to the donors, once a donor has done his job, it is only fair that the Government takes over the responsibility in case of an emergency like this. I would like to request the Assistant Minister to look into this matter and ensure that all the Government water bodies react to this issue as soon as possible. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have no further questions. view
  • 3 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir--- view
  • 3 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this important Motion. view
