  • 5 Nov 2020 in Senate: Please, save me from this Member here; he is finishing my time. He has left you and now come to me. Although we are talking about the BBI solving this problem, it is in this House where this issue can be addressed. Bringing forth an issue that people could not be employed in the maritime sector because of language, is not something to be entertained. I thought that Kiswahili is a national language; that once somebody can speak in Kiswahili, they can be employed in one area or another. If this is the situation, as the Senator has raised, it ... view
  • 3 Nov 2020 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for also giving me this opportunity. First, I would like us to thank ourselves in this particular House. I remember the day when you led all of us marching to the Milimani Law Courts in unison. It was a great day. Our unity was noticed by even the governors who had gone to bed with the Executive to water down our demands. Today we are so happy that our unity has earned this country and this particular House respect. It is said united we stand, but divided we fall. Our unity is our strength in ... view
  • 3 Nov 2020 in Senate: I thank the legal team that represented us in court. I congratulate Sen. Orengo, Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. and Sen. Omogeni who has proven that he comes from a clan of courageous people. view
  • 3 Nov 2020 in Senate: We must continue fighting for the Senate, which is the anchor of the counties. I would like to remind fellow Senators that the strength of the counties is not in the amount of money that is apportioned to them; counties can be given more money but without strengthening the oversight role of the Senate, the money will be misused or and will go to enrich the governors. I would like to encourage every one of us that on matters touching the Senate, we must continue standing together to protect devolution in our country. We must stand as a Senate on ... view
  • 8 Oct 2020 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. The Statement by Sen. Cheruiyot is so important such that, I would wish that you would have given some three other Senators two minutes to make comments on it. view

(c)State the plan, if any, by the Bomet County government to complete the construction of the two bridges. view
  • 6 Oct 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to support this Statement from Sen. Cherargei. When the Coronavirus Disease (COVID- 19) came into existence, the issue of locusts was forgotten, but I am so sure that a lot of money was spent on it. If this Statement from Sen. Cherargei is followed closely, it will really assist this country to uncover some issues, like the deals that people were engaged in when it comes to matters concerning this sector. view
  • 6 Oct 2020 in Senate: We used to hear a lot about locusts, but these days we do not hear about it. There is much that we would like to know about the money that was spent and the people who were engaged in the fight against these locusts. It is very important because it will enable this House to understand exactly how the money that had been put into fighting against locusts was used. Who knows; it could be another very huge scandal that is hiding behind COVID-19. The Committee that will be in charge of this Statement should dig deep, so that we ... view
