  • 5 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: I propose the amendment that the new amendment reads, “The maximum percentage of the sum specified in section 5(b) and prescribed in the Schedule under this Act shall not include the medical expenses on the judgment or claim.” view
  • 4 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rise to support this Procedural Motion and congratulate the hon. Members who stayed here until very late. This is something very commendable, especially because this House has been seen by people from outside like we do not do anything. They are not aware that we have been transacting business here for the last two weeks, until very late. If we can continue with this spirit, we will be able to cover many Bills. By the time we break for Christmas recess tomorrow, we will have covered quite a lot. With those remarks, I beg to ... view

The case of this girl who missed examination because of pregnancy, I think is becoming something of great concern to this country. All over the country we have got children, some of them in Standard Eight and others in Form Four, who are made pregnant by men and even thereafter, we never hear of any action that is taken against them. What action is the Ministry or the Government going to take against these people who are making our girls pregnant even before they sit exams? Thank you. view
  • 16 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir, for that ruling. I want to comment on the issue that has come up this morning because of lack of quorum. It is very sad when we give excuses about traffic jams and other things. For example, my group and I are normally in Parliament by 6.30 a.m. and a Member like Maj-Gen. Nkaiserry who comes from very far and is a Member of our group is normally in the prayer room by 6.45 a.m. We would urge all the Members to make it their responsibility to be here on time. That is because it ... view
  • 9 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you hon. Deputy Speaker. First, I would like to thank the Committee for that good response. It is a bit worrying, even when Kenya Power says that it is going to maintain the connection fee at Kshse34,000--- Hon. Deputy Speaker, I have very many schools in my constituency where we had applied for electricity about a year ago. All those schools are being served by the The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 9 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Nyeri Office; up to now they have never been connected, yet we have paid even the minimum that is required of Kshs35,000. Why does the Kenya Power, especially the Nyeri Office, take that long to connect, especially the schools and even other members of the public who require electricity in Mathioya area? Thank you. view
