  • 27 Jun 2013 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is a very serious matter. We need not wait for it to go up to next Thursday. This is an issue which has been pending for the last 16 years, going by the date 1997. The Government should be able to give us a statement as soon as yesterday. We need it on Tuesday because with the current state of affairs, I am sure, teachers can do anything now. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 27 Jun 2013 in Senate: Thank you very much, Madam Temporary Speaker, for giving me this chance again to contribute to the Motion on education and devolution to the counties. Madam Temporary Speaker, much as I would appreciate supporting the Motion, there are some grey areas that we need to look into. • 26 Jun 2013 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, thank you very much for giving me this chance to contribute to this pertinent Motion on the struggle the teachers have undertaken and continue to undertake without anybody sympathizing with them. I concur with all those who have talked here. I can say that I am a victim of the same. In 1997, I was a headmaster/principal of a school. I remember very well that we were the people who were consulted as to how the teachers’ plight was to be resolved. The good government of the day led by President Moi promised teachers that teachers will ... view
  • 25 Jun 2013 in Senate: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Speaker. Sen. Muthama has talked about children going to school without clothes. Is it in order for him to mislead this House that they go to school without clothes? view
  • 25 Jun 2013 in Senate: You said they walk without clothes! view
  • 19 Jun 2013 in Senate: Thank you Madam Temporary Speaker. I stand here, first, to seek clarification from the Mover as to the use of the term Graduate which often appears in an initial capital “G.” I wonder whether the word “Graduate” stands for someone from the The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
