  • 12 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, is he in order to evade telling this House when he will come to make the initial phase of the compensation in Mombasa? view
  • 12 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. Is the Assistant Minister in order to evade the question? When will he come to compensate them? I was listening carefully. Could he answer the question? view
  • 11 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have a lot of respect for the Assistant Minister, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Finance. However, this Question has been on the Order Paper for about three weeks. The Prime Minister has dodged it. Now this Ministry is trying to play games. As I speak now, I do not even have a written answer. I think they are not taking this matter seriously. They are the ones who issued this directive. What is going on? view
  • 6 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to acknowledge hon. Wamalwa for presenting this petition today before this House. Any society is as good as how it takes care of its weakest members. When we were advancing the cause for the disabled, we forgot to, specifically, take care of the members of the albino community. This petition has come at the right time because ritual killings are happening in Tanzania and Uganda. I beg that we support this petition. view

There is a report that was circulated and it showed that over Kshs2 billion remains for retirees or people who need to claim money from the Treasury or the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), and are not able to access the money. What is the Assistant Minister doing, pro-actively, to get to those people, so that they can get that money, ... view
  • 5 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, you will find that the youth who have been employed dig trenches. They do work that will obviously be short- term. This is the case and yet in the past, the Prime Minister has said that the programme will last for a period of six months. view
  • 5 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am trying to lay the foundation. What will we do with these youths after that period of six months? view
  • 5 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: to ask the Prime Minister:- If, following the directive by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance that Ministers and top Government officials use one official car with an engine capacity of not more than 1800 cc, the Prime Minister could- (a) state the rate of compliance with the directive and confirm how much savings are expected from the initiative; (b) table the list of the Ministers, top government and parastatal officials who have complied and those who have not and state whether escort cars will also be affected; and (c) state when H.E the President, H.E. the Vice-President ... view
