This is so, when one community is disarmed, another is encouraged to arm itself. That is not good. The Assistant Minister has not answered this Question well. Why can the Minister of State, Office of the President in charge of Defence not speak on behalf of the army, and the Minister of State, Office of the President in charge of National Security speak on behalf of the police, so that we know whose responsibility it is to protect the borders of Kenya? view
• 5 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to give notice of the following Motion:- THAT, taking into consideration that most developed countries have banned genetically modified products due to their dangers to human beings and the environment; further aware that the Government has not put in place any policy 366 guideline to guard against the introduction of such products in this country; this House urges the Government to ban all genetically modified products in Kenya. • 5 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, what the Assistant Minister has told the House is theoretical. Clearing agents are finding it extremely difficult. When they go to clear goods in Mombasa, they are referred back to Nairobi. The Assistant Minister has to come clear and tell us how they have decentralised the Long Room which has been there longer than this Government! view

It is obviously known that these businessmen had no business plan for this country. They have not shown what kind of business they are going to run in this country. view

It reminds me of Hamasho(??) and Patrice Lumumba; people who are surrounded by mercenaries never survive. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like the Assistant Minister to assure this House, and I will lower my tone, that these people are not dangerous to this nation. Why have they refused to go back? If Kenyans have refused to do business with them, what business are they here for? view

• 28 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to the debate on the Presidential Address, to which everybody in the country listened to very carefully. There are contentious issues that emanate from what we call reconciliation and dialogue as have been addressed by the Leader of the Official Opposition. In his Speech, the President identified issues which the Government has to improve on. It is, indeed, intelligent to tell Kenyans to hold together.
