  • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have the statement. As you clearly said, we had mentioned security agencies last week concerning the same issue. Further to that, the Inspector-General and all Members of Parliament from Turkana County and the Senator himself were in Turkana on Saturday. Clearly, that means that a lot has been done. However, since I was given the statement and the Senator is not around, it is important that we issue the statement when he is here so that we see whether the issues he raised were taken care of or not. view
  • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. We will respond to this request the first week once we resume from recess. We cannot have it next week because we will be going on recess either tomorrow or today. We cannot give you an answer tomorrow. view
  • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Yes, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. But I think Sen. Kanainza made a mistake because I just walked out and came back. I knew that I was supposed to give this statement; so, it is important to countercheck before you rush into making statements. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this Statement was given to me when I was just coming to the House. I have not interrogated it, neither have I given a copy to Sen. Kanainza just to look at it in order to raise issue with where she is not satisfied. But nevertheless, I will go through it, we can ... view
  • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. With all due respect to my colleagues and more so to Sen. Kanainza, I think as the Vice Chairperson of this Committee, I tried my best to have this statement given today. This statement was requested on Thursday and we had only Friday. Again, yesterday was a public holiday and according to me, I have tried my best. I called the Principal Secretary (PS) and even the Cabinet Secretary (CS) severally. Honestly, I do not manufacture or, rather, do the statement myself. But I have tried to have the statement with me. Even when ... view

  • 24 Jul 2014 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, maybe you forgot that I had requested earlier to give supplementary information on a particular Statement that was requested by Sen. Lonyangapuo. I do not know whether I should go ahead and give it. view
  • 24 Jul 2014 in Senate: I can do that, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. view
  • 24 Jul 2014 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. This is supplementary information regarding a Statement on insecurity along the West Pokot-Turkana County border that was earlier requested by Sen. Lonyangapuo. The Statement regarding the insecurity along the West Pokot/Turkana County border was issued before the honourable House on 1st July, 2014. However, during the proceedings, Sen. (Prof.) Lonyangapuo sought to be informed on:- (1) the registration numbers of the vehicles provided to enhance patrols along the border; (2) the details of how security was beefed up in Karon, Kases, Tikaiwa and Sarmach areas; (3) why a special District Officer was deployed without ... view
