  • 26 Nov 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise to support this Motion by Prof. Lonyangapuo. As I have said here before, he always brings very interesting Motions which impact positively on citizens. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the one reason I support this Bill is because under the new governance structures, where we have 47 counties, if as the national Government, we do not come up with policies that compel the 47 county governments to have a uniform curriculum, to ensure that the workforce, human resource and those who will graduate from our universities and educational system is sustained and the levels also ... view

  • 21 Nov 2013 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this Bill and want to thank Sen. Sang for bringing it. I also think that what has been stated here before about him is not really correct. I am aware that he is married with two children, although his marital status does not have any bearing on his bringing a Bill to this House. Whether you have 20 children, 50 children or no child, it really does not affect your legislative role or representation of your people. • 19 Nov 2013 in Senate: Hon. Senators, this is unfortunate. First of all, I took note of the fact that this Bill was being debated without a heavy presence of the Education and Information Technology Members in the House. Secondly, our Whips should do a better job in getting our Senators to the House. Therefore, there being no quorum, the House is adjourned until tomorrow, Wednesday, 20th November, 2013 at 9.00 am. This Bill will continue for another one hour and 40 minutes when resume tomorrow. The Senate rose at 6.00 p.m. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. ... view

  • 7 Nov 2013 in Senate: Thank you Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I stand to support the Bill by Boni Khalwale. I will not repeat myself because all the speakers before me have pointed out most of the facts that I wanted to enumerate. I recently attended a function where the former Prime Minister was unveiling his book and one of the speakers at the function made a very enlightening statement. He said that in this world, there are only two types of people; missionaries and mercenaries. He went further to state that the Right hon. Prime Minister was in the category of missionaries and further ... view
