  • 6 Aug 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, as I support them, I want to urge them not to be “crying babies”. Every time there is an issue, they start crying. This reminds me of a small child who throws tantrums and he is given a lollipop by the father. I would urge our President and the Deputy President not to listen to them on a daily basis, and should tell them to go back to their counties and work, because that is where we need them. view
  • 6 Aug 2013 in National Assembly: Finally, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I have a feeling that Senators and governors actually did not read and comprehend the Constitution and the roles that they are supposed to play. Could they start doing that so that when we come back from recess we do not have the hullabaloo that we have been having? view
  • 6 Aug 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I support this Bill. Thank you. view
  • 24 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I wish to join my colleagues in supporting these two ladies. I want to disagree a little with Hon. Kabando view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. I do not want to complain that you have caught my eyes for the first time and you have noticed me. view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Okay. I want to say that when this Bill was tabled in the Cabinet, it brought a lot of acrimony; first, because there had not been enough consultations amongst the stakeholders. I remember hon. (Dr.) Kuti, almost cried when livestock was included in the Bill. One of the concessions made were that livestock would be removed from this Bill so that hon. Kuti could be accommodated. view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also want to thank Hon. Gakuya for bringing this Motion to this House. However, I would also like him to relook at the matter in a holistic manner because garbage and dumpsites are not only in Nairobi. I think this is all over the country and that is why I requested for a Statement from the Cabinet Secretary, Environment, Water and Mineral Resources so that we can know whether they have a waste management disposal policy for the entire country. We also want to know whether funds have been set aside for the ... view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, if you want to know that you are approaching a town or shopping centre in Kenya, it is not the goats, it is not the people that you see, or will show you that you are approaching a town, it is plastic papers that fly all over. We need to devise a way on how to deal with this. view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: If you travel outside Africa into the western countries, you will be amazed at the level of cleanliness and waste management. We need to look at waste management and disposal, not just as a way of sweeping dirty, but from where it is seen. In most cases, it is done into the drain pipes, so that when it rains, we even have to deal with overfilled drains. But how to economically manage it and ensure that waste is translated into energy. I hope when the statement will be given by the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural ... view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speakers, the posts that were used to fence Aberdares forest were made from recycled plastics and we do not have to waste the plastic papers that are flying all over. We can convert them into usable material that our youth, who we are crying every day that they do not have employment, can actually be gainfully employed by managing the waste disposal. view
